A Southern Gallimaufry
I thoroughly enjoyed the article about Jitney Jungles history. My mother sent me to the Jitney across from Duling school for bread to be toasted and used to make tomato sandwiches. Those Tomatoes were fresh from the garden. Oh so good! I worked at that store as a bag boy and stocked shelves on a part time basis. I also had a morning paper route and one of my customers was Fred Sullens. My family moved from Jackson following my completion of the 10th grade at Central High. What wonderful memories!
